Johnson Law Group has more than 20 years of litigation experience in federal, state and administrative courts. While our approach is first to identify solutions for solving legal needs without resorting to formal proceedings, our team has the experience to represent our clients at all stages of the court process. We can also help prepare your case for formal mediation or binding arbitration in order to help you avoid the often costly litigation process.

Wills, Trusts, and Estates

Johnson Law Group has extensive experience in creating tailored estate plans for individuals and families designed to preserve and distribution of wealth, avoid expensive probate costs and minimize taxes. The firm is expert in drafting revocable living trusts, special needs trusts, wills, durable and special powers of attorney, and advance health directives. We also administer estates and trusts and provide support for intervention proceedings such as financial guardianships.

Government Contracting

Johnson Law Group has over 25 years of experience in government contracting, having engaged with numerous federal, local and international agencies and international bodies over that time, including USAID, DOD, State, the World Bank, DCPS, MCPS, PGCPS and others. The firm works with contractors on SBA registrations, federal and local regulatory interpretation, compliance and enforcement, teaming agreements, prime grants and contracts, FOIA requests, debarment issues and bid protests.

Business Law

The firm’s work with business interests is wide-ranging, including forming sole proprietorships, partnerships, limited liability companies, and for-profit and not-for profit corporations. We provide tailored counsel to clients in order to establish a sound legal framework in which to operate a successful business. This includes development of by-laws and LLC operating agreements, regulatory compliance, licensing, franchising, trade names and trademarks, contract and subcontract drafting and review, consumer protection, non-disclosure and non-compete agreements, and personnel management.

Property and Tenancy Issues

The firm handles a most issues related to commercial and residential property, including rentals and leases, property management, purchase and sale agreements, title opinions and disputes, easements; transfers of property related to estate planning, representation in zoning and land use matters, property disputes between neighbors, public and private nuisance, HOA formation and governance, and tenants’ and landlords’ claims. The firm is a registered agent for Stewart Title Insurance Company.

Elder Law

The U.S. population is aging, with longer and much more active lifestyles and greater expectations, the need to manage assets, provide for long-term care, and qualify for governmental benefits such as Medicare becomes paramount.
